  • What are Key Words? Making a list of the words that will help you find the information you need about your research topic.
  • When will you use Key Words? Use them when searching through books and on the internet.
  • Why do you need to have "good Key Words"? If you have good key words, you'll find the kind of information you want faster.
  • What are "good Key Words"? Good key words are the important words or Highlighted or Bold or Italic words.
  • When do you list Key Words? Once you have a general topic.
  • How do you list Key Words?
  • 1. First, Write one sentence about the topic.
  • 2. Next, Underline the specific words of your topic.
  • 3. Make a separate list of these specific words.
  • 4. Add to the list any words that mean the same thing or are related terms.
  • 5. Think of more words or phrases that explain the larger topic, Add those to the list.
  • 6. Think of more words or phrases that are subtopics that has useful information, Add those to the list.
